SWAT officers found and arrested Douglas Blake inside his north side home, located at 8160 Saddle Run, at about 4 a.m., 10TV’s Ashleigh Barry reported.
Officers said that they found Blake, 25, after they released a sketch of the man involved in the armed robbery and received a number of tips from citizens.
The robbery occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday in the 10000 block of Brettridge Drive, located in the Liberty Lake subdivision.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the family was driving home along Sawmill Road when they noticed a white vehicle following them.
The family pulled their car into the garage and waited to make sure nobody was behind them or in the garage.
As the driver was preparing to get out of the car, deputies said that Blake allegedly approached the car with a gun.
Later, police said that surveillance video showed the victim's credit cards being used at a Worthington Kroger and at a nearby Meijer store.
Investigators said that they found evidence linked to the robbery inside his home. Blake was charged with aggravated robbery, his bond was set at $300,000.
A man who said he was Blake’s brother said that his brother was in the Army and was an honorable man, Barry reported.
“He’s always been there to support me through my military career,” Blake’s brother said. “He fought for his country, and then to hear this was a big shock.
According to court records, Blake was convicted in 2010 of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators said that they were still looking for another person who used the family’s credit card at the Kroger store near the Worthington Mall.
