A fraternity agreed on a settlement to two men who said that they were sexual assaulted by a fellow fraternity member more than four years ago, 10TV’s Kevin Landers reported on Monday.

According to court documents, several male students at Ohio Wesleyan University said that a pledge instructor for the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity sexually assaulted them, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

One pledge recruit said that the instructor made him strip while quizzing him about the Greek alphabet

Another male student said that the instructor “aggressively touched” him on his private parts “to prepare him for initiation” into Sigma Phi Epsilon, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

The student denied the sexual harassment allegations.

The accused man, along with another man, then filed a civil complaint against four people claiming slander and libel, Landers reported.

The accused man said that he suffered mental anguish and emotional trauma regarding the accusations.

The case never made it to court, but the two who filed the case paid the two alleged victims a total of $10,000.

The attorney representing the national fraternity agreed to pay the two men who accused the fraternity members of sexual assault an additional $12,000.

As part of the settlement, the accused men will have to submit a doctor’s letter to confirm ‘treatment.”

The university said that it did an exhaustive investigating, but the attorney representing the two men accused in the case said that the claim could not be proven.

Cole Hatcher, a spokesman for Ohio Wesleyan, said that the incident was a very unusual issue for the university.

“When something like this happens to one person in a way, it really happens to all of us, and we’re very committed to providing a living environment that’s safe for everyone here,” Hatcher said.
