Police said Thursday that a man was arrested for driving drunk after he drove his young daughters to karate class while drunk.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Feb. 7th near the Westerville Community Center at 350 N. Cleveland Ave., 10TV News reported.
Police said Edward Argy showed up with his daughters one hour late for class.
A parent noticed Argy, 38, slurred his speech and smelled of alcohol, 10TV News reported.
The manager of the Westerville Community Center called 911 for help.
"The child was dropped off by his or her father who is intoxicated, smelling of alcohol," he said. "He is slurring his speech."
Sgt. Charles Chandler with Westerville Police said, "I believe he denied having the alcohol and in further conversation said, yes, I did have a couple of beers before I came over."
The two girls, ages 4 and 6, were picked up by their mother, 10TV News reported.
The Westerville Parks and Recreation director said no one inside the recreation center was in any danger.
Argy's license was automatically suspended because he refused to take a breathalyzer, police said.
He faces charges of child endangering and driving drunk, 10TV News reported.
