A woman on Friday admitted to having sex and giving alcohol and drugs to two teen boys.
Kimberly Elliott appeared in Licking County Municipal Court, where she was sentenced to seven years in prison, 10TV's Jessa Goddard reported.
Elliott, 27, changed her plea to guilty on Friday before apologizing to the court.
"I'm really, really sorry for what I did," Elliott said. "I didn't mean to do it, and I miss my husband and I miss my son and they miss me too and I'm sorry for what I did."
Elliot, a mother of a 9-year-old boy, admitted that between January and September 2010, she gave drugs and alcohol to two 13-year-old boys while her husband was in prison on a felony domestic violence charge, Goddard reported.
Elliott's attorney said that she suffers from bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety and that she did not have access to her medication at the time of the incidents.
“Due to the depression from her husband being in jail for eight months, she started to do drugs, she started to use marijuana, she started to drink,” attorney Tom Gordon said. “She told me she was drinking a liter of vodka every two days.”
Elliott will be able to serve her sentences concurrently, making her eligible for release in three years. She will be required to serve five years of probation and register as a tier-two sex offender when she is released from prison.
Outside of the courtroom, Elliott’s husband told 10TV News that he was “sick and disgusted” over what his wife did and planned to begin divorce proceedings, Goddard reported.
