Dublin police spoke with at least 100 residents at the Dublin Rec Center Thursday night about a recent rash of burglaries in the area.
The meeting was held to give residents and business owners an idea about what they can do to keep their employees safe, 10TV's Justin Moss reported.
The concerns about safety came from a recent crime spree, including one incident where a clerk was gunned down and killed during a robbery at a Dublin Sunoco.
Police offered tips like having cameras and making sure at least two employees close.
Dublin resident and business owner, Pat Baker said she came to the meeting to learn how to help her community.
"This town has always taken care of its own," said Baker. "We have always been a safe place and we want to continue to be a safe place."
Police also revealed Thursday that the robbery and murder at the Sunoco station may have been committed by the same people that robbed a Dublin Max and Erma's, Moss reported.
Police said extra patrols are on the streets and they set up a tip line for anyone with information about any of the recent crimes in Dublin. The numbers are 614-410-4-TIP or 614-410-4847.
