The night clerk who was killed early this week inside a gas station during an apparent robbery was remembered on Friday.
Friends and family gathered at the Noor Islamic Cultural Center, located at 5100 Wilcox Rd., to remember Mohamed Hassan, 10TV's Danielle Elias reported.
Police said that two masked robbers attacked Hassan, 46, at the Sunoco gas station, located at 201 W. Bridge St., at about 11 p.m. on Monday. A co-worker discovered Hassan's body almost six hours later.
Hassan was remembered as a well-known and loved restaurateur, Elias reported.
Police said Thursday that they were looking into the possibility that the robbers were the same people who robbed a nearby Max & Erma's restaurant on Feb. 2.
One of the men was described as white and was wearing black clothing and a black ski mask. He is between 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and was carrying a handgun, police said.
The other robber was described as white and was wearing black clothing and a black ski mask. He is between 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and was also carrying a gun, police said.
The Max & Erma's, located at 411 Metro Place North, was robbed by two white men in their late teens or early 20s, and were wearing all black clothing and ski masks. They were also carrying handguns, police said. No injuries were reported in the restaurant robbery that occurred when the restaurant was closed.
Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact Dublin police at 614-410-4847.
