Eli Woodard, a defensive back from New Jersey, verbally committed to Ohio State via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

"After much prayer and consideration, I'm proud to commit as a student-athlete to The Ohio State University!" is what Woodard posted Thursday afternoon.

He becomes the fourth verbal commitment to the class of 2013 for Urban Meyer joining Middletown quarterback Jalin Marshall, Trotwood-Madison cornerback Cameron Burrows and Austintown-Fitch defensive lineman Billy Price.

Like Burrows, Woodward is rated as a four-star defensive back and is considered one of the top defensive back recruits in the country.

He chose Ohio State over offers from Alabama, California, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
