Rick Nash, Jeff Carter, Derek Dorsett and Fedor Tyutin were all absent from Thursday morning's practice at the Ohio Health Ice Haus. Blue Jackets interim head coach Todd Richards confirmed all four were given a maintenance day and are expected to be back on the ice for practice on Friday and be in the lineup for Saturday's game vs. Chicago.
Nash has been the center of trade rumors all week. The six-time 30-goal scorer told the Columbus Dispatch earlier this week he has not asked for a trade.
“I’m a Blue Jacket right now. I’ve played my whole career here and it’s a special place to me. So as of right now, I’m a Blue Jacket,” said Nash on Tuesday.
Today he was not available for comment.
