A Westerville-area man who pleaded guilty to a terrorism charge will be allowed to remain with his wife and children in central Ohio until sentencing, 10TV News reported on Wednesday.

Ahmed Hussein Mahamud, 27, pleaded guilty on Feb. 6 in Minnesota to providing support to Al-Shabab, a Somali-based terrorist organization.

Investigators said that Mahamud conspired to raise money for Al-Shabab from 2008 to 2011.

The FBI said that he also admitted that he and his co-conspirators raised money from the Somali-American community in Minnesota under false pretenses to pay for men in Minnesota to travel to Somalia to join the terror cell.

Prosecutors did not object to Mahamud's request to return.
