The family of a woman who was slain said they still need one thing before they can move on, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported on Monday.
Tiffany Brown was slain and her body found hidden in her mother's basement one year ago in Logan County.
Sammy Littleton was arrested after a manhunt. He was sentenced to life for Brown's death and the murders of Dick and Gladis Russell.
Deb Neeley and Larry Brown, Brown's parents, said that they wonder if they will ever be free of grief. Neeley said one question haunts them the most. "Why? Why on earth would you do that? If your life was so bad, why would you do that? Why couldn't you just take your own life instead of hers?" Neeley said, "That's what eats me the most."
Brown's parents took on the task of raising her two sons, now four and six.
"There's so much of her in them. And that is comfort. That's comfort for me," said Neeley.
Brown's parents said that since the day they watched him plead guilty to three murders, they have not heard anything from Sammy Littleton.
Littleton is serving life in prison with no possibility of parole.
