Jane Lawrence said a she got a call from someone saying she had just won a million dollars and a Mercedes Benz.
But, as 10TV's Jason Frazer reported, there was a catch.
Lawrence, 87, said the caller told her she had to go to Walmart and get a bank card before calling the caller back. That's when she got suspicious.
The caller said the scammer told her to deposit $319 on the gift card, scratch off the number behind the card, then call him back with that number.
Police came to Lawrence's house and answered the phone the next time the scammer called.
