Columbus State Community College culinary students were working to create cakes representing landmarks around the city.

The students were making cakes representing the statehouse, the LeVeque Tower and eight colleges and universities in the city.

The cakes will be judged Friday afternoon with winners receiving scholarship prizes.

After judging, the cakes will be served to thousands of guests at the Bicentennial Bash, a birthday party Friday night for the city’s bicentennial.
