A woman shared her story Wednesday after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach and leg.
As she learned to walk again, she also focused on putting her attacker behind bars, 10TV's Justin Moss reported.
"I'm a miracle sitting here in this chair. A true miracle to survive three gunshot wounds," the victim, who requested anonymity, said.
The woman was shot outside an apartment complex on Elaine Place on Jan. 31.
"He turned around. He pulled a gun on me," the victim said.
The gunman got away with the victim's purse after he struck her with three bullets, Moss reported.
She received 32 staples in her stomach, a steel rod in her leg and was just released from the hospital.
"I'm in excruciating pain and I have been this whole past week," she said.
The woman said that she would fight to put the shooter behind bars.
She said that she was sure that someone saw something that night and hoped they would say something to police.
"Please, I'm begging you, I'm begging you so much. Just to come forward and say something to catch this man," the victim said. "I don't want him to hurt anybody else."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
