Police were investigating a woman’s death on Wednesday night.
According to family members, Amy Aldrich was shot and killed inside a home on Bartram Avenue at about 5:30 p.m.
One person, who family identified as Aldrich’s ex-boyfriend and her child’s father, was taken into custody, The Marion Star Reported.
One family member said that he heard as many as eight shots fired.
According to family members, Aldrich, 30, moved to northwest Ohio after her ex-boyfriend threatened her.
Family members also said that Aldrich returned to Marion for a child support hearing for a child she had with the man being questioned.
“I was supposed to pick her up,” Brenda Cook, Aldrich’s aunt, said. “I was supposed to take her home.”
Aldrich’s cousin, Jade Wren, said that that Aldrich had three children.
“These kids have to grow up without a mom,” Wren said. “It should not have to be this way.”
