An Ohio House committee approved new rules for Ohio’s casinos on Wednesday.
The proposal would establish the rules that the four casinos being built in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Toledo would have to follow to operate in the state.
The proposal would also set guidelines for seven state race tracks.
The casinos would have to meet a minimum number of live racing days at the tracks to operate video lottery terminals.
Also included in the proposed guidelines were charity benefits, the provision that bingo halls could stay open until 2 a.m. and that that charities would be able to pay poker dealers to work events.
The Ohio House would have to approve the measure before it can move forward.
