The driver of a motorcycle who fled from police was in jail on $10,000 bond on Tuesday.

Police said that they received a tip that a wanted man was at the Arby’s Restaurant located at 540 Hebron Rd. on Monday night, 10TV’s Justin Moss reported.

Police said that Kipp Johnson resisted arrest at the restaurant. Another man who was with him, Luther Meadows Jr., fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Meadow led police on a high-speed chase for about two miles until he crashed into a guardrail along state Route 79.

“The officer reported that he seemed to be okay, which seems hard to believe after seeing the motorcycle and seeing the guardrail and he was traveling 130 miles an hour,” Heath police Chief Anthony Sheperd said.

Meadows was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said Johnson was arrested in connection with the theft of 20 motorcycles back in Aug. 2011.

According to authorities, Johnson was indicted for that theft then fled when he was expected in court.

Police said that Johnson and Meadows were both in possession of stolen motorcycles.

Meadows was charged with failure to comply and receiving stolen property.
