A man was arrested on Tuesday after two girls said that he tried to entice them.
According to police, Barry Matie allegedly pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl at the corner of 19th Street and Frebis Avenue Tuesday as she walked to the bus stop and asked if she needed a ride.
Later that morning, Matie, 45, allegedly saw another 12-year-old girl when he was in front of a home, located at 1175 22nd St., and told her she looked tired and offered to let her inside the home, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.
Matie is a registered sex offender, Ramos reported. His probation officers arrived on the scene where they said they found several questionable items in the trunk of Matie's car.
Both girls were able to run away and contact their parents.
No injuries were reported.
