A man accused of raping and kidnapping a former co-worker was in jail on Monday on $150,000 bond.
Rickey Dye was charged with rape, kidnapping and aggravated robbery after allegedly attacking a woman as she was leaving her Westerville home at about 10 p.m. on Thursday, 10TV’s Tanisha Mallett reported.
Dye, 50, was allegedly yielding a utility knife and forced the 64-year-old woman back into her apartment, police said.
Once back in the apartment, court documents said that Dye raped the woman before tying her arms and legs to a bedrail, Mallett reported.
Dye allegedly fled the home after taking the woman's purse, police said.
According to court documents, Dye was angry with the woman because she had filed a sexual harassment claim against Dye while the two worked together. Dye was fired shortly after, Mallett reported.
The two worked together at Southeast Inc. Recovery and Mental Health Care Services, where Dye served as a service specialist with homeless clients from 2008 until December 2011.
According to the 911 call, the victim said they worked together at Rebecca’s Place, a shelter primarily for women, Mallett reported.
Dye’s criminal record includes kidnapping and felony assault and another rape, according to police.
Representatives from Southeast Inc. did not say why Dye was let go and whether they knew about his past.
Dye was expected to be back in court on Monday.
