The Union County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday was looking for a man they said initiated a fake traffic stop and abducted and raped a woman.
According to sheriff’s officials, the woman was stopped at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday near Route 245 and Paver-Barns Road, when a man driving what appeared to be a law enforcement vehicle stopped her and forced her to get out of her car and into a truck.
A second man drove the woman’s vehicle away, sheriff’s officials said.
The victim said that she was taken to another area where she was sexually assaulted and then released. She then drove herself to the Memorial Hospital of Union County, where authorities were contacted.
The sheriff’s office said that the man was driving an older model white pick-up truck that could be a Chevrolet.
One of the men was described as between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and skinny with pale skin and dark hair, dark eyes and a goatee and mustache.
Sheriff’s officials said that the man was wearing a green jacket with a tan collar and blue jeans.
The other man was described as being 20 to 25 years old, heavier and wearing a ball cap.
The sheriff’s office issued a warning to officials to be on the lookout.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 937-645-4110.
