The Ross County Sheriff’s Office issued a scam warning on Friday.

Officials said that thieves were pretending to be with the Drug Enforcement Agency.

The caller claims to be with the DEA, and he accuses people of having bought prescription medicines illegally from another country, investigators said.

The sheriff’s office said that the caller promises to drop the charges if $2,000 is wired to the Dominican Republic.

The DEA is working with Ross County deputies to try and crack the case.
