Authorities said that a woman died from injuries suffered when she drove around a gate at a railroad crossing and was struck by a train.
Police said 45-year-old Crystal Keller, of Worthington, was pronounced dead at a Columbus hospital late Wednesday night.
Her sport utility vehicle was struck by a train Monday on the tracks located along East Lincoln Avenue, west of Sinclair Road, at about 5 p.m. Columbus police said in a news release that she disobeyed the railroad signals when the train was approaching a crossing.
Sgt. Bruce Whittaker said the train struck the vehicle on the passenger side and pushed it, breaking through the gate on other side of the Norfolk Southern track. No one else was riding with Keller.
