Two men were federally charged on Wednesday in connection with the sale of counterfeit clothing and other items.

Azmi Azzam Al-Hamouri and Ahmad T. Al-Mahmoud were in federal court on charges of intentionally trafficking counterfeit goods and conspiracy, 10TV’s Ashleigh Barry reported.

FBI officials said that they executed search warrants Wednesday morning at three locations in Hilliard and Columbus after more than a year-long investigation.

One of the locations raided was a building in the 2500 block of Westbelt Drive in West Columbus. The men’s’ homes in Hilliard were also raided, according to FBI agents.

If the case goes to trial, the case would be heard in South Carolina where many of the counterfeit items were sold, Barry reported.

If convicted, the two men could face up to 15 years in prison and fines of $250,000 each.

Al-Hamouri and Al-Mahmoud were released on bond and placed on electronic monitoring.
