Ex-Ohio State and NFL quarterback Art Schlichter has given up his right to a hearing on allegations he violated his bond conditions in a fraud case by twice testing positive for cocaine and by refusing to provide urine samples.
Schlichter's decision Friday means he will stay in prison until his sentencing in the fraud case. His sentencing hearing been scheduled.
The 52-year-old Schlichter has been on house arrest since pleading guilty in October to federal fraud charges stemming from a million-dollar ticket-selling scheme.
A court document says Schlichter tested positive for cocaine in tests done Dec. 19 and Jan. 3. It also said that he failed to submit to urine tests on multiple occasions.
Schlichter's attorney said previously in court papers that Schlichter had complied with bond conditions.
