Hoggy's Closes All But One Columbus-Area Restaurant

All but one Hoggy's restaurants have closed in central Ohio, 10TV News reported on Tuesday.

According to the restaurant chain's corporate office, five Columbus-area locations closed, along with restaurants in Cleveland and Kentucky.

The only location remaining open is the one located at 1370 E. Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna.

More than 100 employees are affected by the closures, 10TV News reported.

"They made every attempt to keep the stores open and keep people working, but at some point when the stores underperform sufficiently, the handwriting is on the wall and there's no choice," said A.C. Strip, an attorney representing the chain.

Hoggy's catering business will remain open and will operate out of the Gahanna restaurant.  According to the company, all gift cards can be used at the Gahanna location.
