Former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges related to a traffic stop.
Smith was pulled over in Cleveland on Dec. 23, and officers said that they found he had an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.
The 2006 Heisman Trophy winner also faced open container charges.
Smith currently plays for the United Football League’s Omaha Nighthawks with fellow Buckeye Maurice Clarett.
