Police on Monday identified the teen who fell from a cliff and died at Hocking Hills State Park.
William Beinlich of Gurnee, Ill., fell over a 60-foot cliff while hiking near Old Man's cave on Sunday, 10TV News reported.
According to investigators, Beinlich, 18, was hiking with friends when he slipped on some ice, causing him to tumble into the lower falls.
"There were several bystanders (who) immediately pulled him out of the water and began CPR," Department of Natural Resources Officer Mark Bryant said.
Emergency crews arrived soon after, but were not able to revive the teen, 10 TV News reported.
Bryant warned hikers and outdoor adventure seekers to read signs and avoid dangers that lurk in the wilderness.
"We want to stress that all of the people who come to Hocking Hills State Park, stay on the posted constructed trails," Bryant said.
Investigators said that they believed the teen's death was accidental.
