Report: Mike Stoops Offered Ohio State Defensive Coordinator Job

New Ohio State coach Urban Meyer has offered Mike Stoops the co-defensive coordinator position, a Tulsa, Okla., television station reported Thursday.

According to KOTV, Stoops was in Columbus on Wednesday and was considering the position.

Stoops, 49, was recently fired as head coach at Arizona and compiled a 41-50 record in 7 ½ years at the school.

He was the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma University under his brother, Bob Stoops, for five seasons before being hired at Arizona.

Stoops, a Youngstown native, also coached at Iowa and Kansas State.
