The FBI believed the disappearance of a northeast Ohio man could be linked to the death of a man in Noble County.

Timothy Kern, 47, had been missing since Nov. 13, 10TV’s Andy Hirsch reported.

According to Timothy Kern’s father, Kern planned to take a job in Noble County he discovered through an advertisement on the Web site Craigslist.

Investigators believed a similar advertisement lured two out-of-state men to a farm in Noble County.  Of those two men, one was shot and killed, the other was also shot but he managed to escape, Hirsch reported.

Authorities tied the plot to Brogan Rafferty, 16, and Richard Beasley, 52, who allegedly met through a bible study group.

Rafferty faced attempted murder charges and Beasley is in custody on unrelated charges.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Office could not comment on the case because of a gag order.
