Police were searching for the driver who allegedly tried to run over a security guard near Riverside Methodist Hospital late Thursday night.

The security guard, who police identified as Chad Rosser, then fired shots at the vehicle, 10TV's Jessa Goddard reported.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. outside the emergency entrance of the McConnell Heart Hospital, located at 3773 Olentangy River Road.

According to a news release issued by the hospital, Rosser was responding to a report of a suspicious person when the driver of a black Cadillac tried to run him over.

The driver then left the hospital property and was not immediately located.

Police said that the Cadillac had Arkansas license plate No. 356-RIW and was last seen traveling toward state Route 315.

Rosser was being treated at Riverside Methodist Hospital and was treated for minor injuries, police said.
