Woman Allegedly Raped On Ohio University Campus

Ohio University police said on Friday that they were investigating an alleged rape of a woman.

This is the second alleged rape on campus in two weeks, 10TV's Andy Hirsch reported.

Police said the woman reported being assaulted near the parking lot of Seigfred Hall and Playground Drive between 55 Mill St. and 69 Mill St. on Saturday.

This is the same area where many other crimes took place this year, Hirsch reported.

Information about the assailant was not immediately available.  

Campus police urge those on campus to avoid walking alone, especially at night, use well traveled areas and call 911 anytime something suspicious is spotted.
