A Richwood woman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to prison on Wednesday for driving high and running a stop sign in July that led to the death of her passenger and injured her three children.

Angie Hoover, 31, was sentenced to 9 years in prison and received a lifetime driver's license suspension, 10TV News reported.

The crash occurred on July 22, 2010 at the stop sign at state Routes 257 and 37 in Ostrander and killed Hoover's boyfriend, Charles Muetzel.

Hoover's three sons were injured in the crash and the other driver was also injured.

"Not only did a blood test reveal marijuana in her system, but she also had marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in her purse at the time of the crash," said the Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Carol O'Brien. "This prison sentence is justified by her total disregard for her passenger, other drivers and her three children.

In June, Hoover was sentenced to one year in prison after a Delaware County jury found her guilty of complicity to robbery.
