A man who assaulted a homeless man and his dog was sentenced on Tuesday to six months in jail.
Police said Christopher Richardson, 23, was one of three men who attacked Charles Stockfish and his dog, Rocky, near the ramp from Interstate 71 north to state Route 161 on April 30.
In court on Tuesday, Richardson apologized for his actions.
"I would like to apologize for everything I did and caused," he said. "And I know this made myself look bad and my family. So if I could reach out, tell him I apologize for what I did to him."
Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Harlan Hale suspended six months from Richardson's sentence because he apologized, however he ordered Richardson to seek mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Hale also said Richardson must also get his high school GED and a job after his release from jail.
