A grand jury has indicted two relatives in connection with the death of a Logan woman, the Hocking County prosecutor's office announced Monday.
William Inman II and his father, William A. Inman, were each charged with two counts of
aggravated murder in connection with Summer Inman's death.
Both William Inman II and his father, William A. Inman were also indicted on charges of murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.
The pair was already charged kidnapping, along with William A. Inman's wife, Sandra, 10TV's Kevin Landers reported.
Summer Inman, 25, was abducted on March 22 from an alley in Logan.
"We were waiting on lab results from BCI were waiting on autopsy reports and we had to get all that information before we were comfortable with proceeding," said Hocking County Prosecturo Laina Fetherolf.
Sandra Inman has not been indicted by a grand jury.
Her attorney says she is incompetent to stand trial, but Fetherolf said that does not mean the grand jury will not consider other charges against her.
"She was not part of the indictment because her attorney had filed for a motion for competency hearing and a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity," Fetherolf said.
Fetherolf said the case is a first for the small community and she is seeking assistance from the Ohio Attorney General.
Sandra Inman led investigators to the body of her daughter in-law, after she told them Summer Inman, a mother of three, was placed in a septic system behind a church near U.S. Route 33 in Nelsonville.
A coroner later determined that she died of strangulation, 10TV News reported.
Summer and William A. Inman II were married in 2004 but the couple separated last year, 10TV News reported. Since then, she was granted a civil protection order and filed for divorce. In court documents, Summer Inman claimed that her husband "threatened to kill" her if she ever "took the children from him." She also said her husband would take her car keys, wallet and cell phone to leave her "captive" in the couple's home.
On Monday, William Inman II pleaded not guilty pleas to all charges. His father is scheduled to appear in court to be arraigned on Tuesday morning.
