The parents of a Canal Winchester eighth grader said on Wednesday that their son was banned from the bus for a bodily function.
James Nichols said his 13-year-old son was punished by middle school officials for passing gas while riding on the bus and then mouthing off afterward.
Nichols said he understands the school's discipline, he said he does not agree with their explanation.
"And this is the time in their life, they'll figure out what societal norms are, and even in spite of that if you really have to pass gas, there's not too much you can do about it," Nichols said.
Nichols said his son is again allowed to ride the bus.
The school could not be reached for comment.
