Shotgun Blast Wounds Man Filming Scene From 'Spiderman'

A group of men were filming an amateur movie in the basement of a Clintonville home on Sunday evening when a gun being used as a prop fired, striking one of them in the leg, police said.

The shooting happened at about 7:40 p.m. at a house in the 400 block of East Torrence Road.

According to police, Sam Vestey and two friends were using a shotgun while filming a scene from one of the "Spiderman" movies.  One of them was holding the gun when it fired, wounding Vestey, 23.

Investigators said the men did not know that the gun was loaded.

Vestey was transported to a hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.

Police said the shooting was accidental and no criminal charges were filed.
