2 Arrested In Dry Cleaner Robbery; 1 Remains At Large

Police on Friday announced the arrests of two people sought in connection with a robbery at a dry cleaner earlier this month.

Carla L. Spaulding, 35, and James L. Varney, 21, both of Columbus, were charged with complicity to robbery, 10TV News reported.

Police issued an arrest warrant for complicity to aggravated robbery for Richard D. Harrell, who remained at large.

Police said that they were involved in a robbery at Swan Cleaners, located at 1247 N. Hamilton Road, on Oct. 4.

Police said that the robber entered the business and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at a woman who was working at the front desk and told her to get on the floor.

The man then took all the money that was in the cash register and demanded that the employee give him her purse, police said

A car that was believed to have been used in the robbery was impounded and the handgun was recovered, police said.
