UPDATED: Thursday October 7, 2010 5:55 PM

A man was arrested this week for allegedly burglarizing a garage after some of the stolen items were recovered in his car.

Mark Wihl was arrested by Columbus Police on Tuesday, after the Delaware County Sheriff's Office shared information about the break-in suspect with neighboring agencies, a news release said.

Wihl, 51, of Grove City, was transferred to the Delaware County Jail and was charged with burglary.

The sheriff's office said a search of Wihl's car turned up items that were taken during a Friday burglary on Tartan Field Drive.

The homeowner saw the burglar leaving and was able to give deputies a description of the man and his car, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said Wihl has a prior criminal record and is a registered sex offender.
