At 103-years-old, Louise Brown has seen a lot in her life, but according to her, Tuesday was the first time she has ever come face to face with a criminal.

Brown was retrieving the mail outside her German Village home when a man knocked her down and stole about $100, 10TV's Ashleigh Barry reported.

"He just came in the door and he knocked me down," Brown said.  "I fell right here."

Brown said she has lived in her City Park Avenue home for 50 years, and on Tuesday she was checking for mail like she does every day when a man appeared.

"When I got to the door I turned around and he held his hand on the door," Brown said.  "I said, 'What do you want?'  And he said, 'I want $20.'"

Brown said she agreed to give him the cash, but the man wanted more and followed her inside.  She said he snatched all the money she was saving for utility bills and shoved her to the ground before fleeing, Barry reported.

Brown landed on her arm, but was not seriously injured.

"It hurts a little bit when I raise it up or down, but not as bad as yesterday," she said.

Police were able to collect fingerprints from the home, but as of Thursday, no arrest had been made.

In the meantime, Brown's nephew was going to move her mailbox closer to her door, and Brown said she'll rely on her cane she carries for added protection.

"Believe me, if I could have got to that cane, I would have hit him with it," she said.
