A Saturday afternoon in Ohio Stadium, state-of-the-art workout facilities, great health care coverage and tuition reimbursement are just a few of the perks associated with working for one of the biggest employers in the city: The Ohio State University.
More than 23,000 people currently work on the university and medical center campuses, and more employees are needed.
There are more than 70 jobs available at the university alone, 60 of them non-faculty positions.
"We have a number of research and (information technology) positions available this week and the requirements for those positions are going to vary, depending on the duties to be performed and the area they work in," said Katie Hall with Ohio State's Office of Human Resources.
Specifically, there is also an opening for a medical claims specialist at the College of Dentistry.
"They're responsible for processing all of the insurance claims for the college," Hall said. "We have fiscal associate in veterinary medicine. They'll manage the fiscal activities for a department within the College of Veterinary Medicine."
There are also more than 250 positions open at the university's medical center, including office
administrative and support staff, custodial and housekeeping jobs, patient services and leadership
positions.
All of the listings are easy to find on Ohio State's job Web site. The site lists each
job, along with minimum requirements and salary.
Applicants can submit a cover letter and resume that is specific to their experiences.
The university is looking for people who embody the values and traditions of the university.
"So it's things like being willing to collaborate, acting with integrity and personal accountability, doing your work in as a simple and effective way as you can," Hall said. "People who can demonstrate they have those values are the people who will be most successful at Ohio State."
New positions within the university are posted each Friday, and each Monday for medical center jobs.
