The city of Delaware on Monday became the latest municipality to enact a ban on texting while driving.

Delaware City Council approved a bill that will make it illegal to read or send a text message, or use the Internet, while behind the wheel, 10TV News reported.

The law takes effect in 30 days. Drivers caught breaking the law face a $150 fine.

Delaware is the latest central Ohio city to ban texting while driving; others include Columbus, Worthington, Hilliard, New Albany and Bexley.
