Letter Sent To Parents Of Lacrosse Players

UPDATED: Wednesday June 9, 2010 5:09 PM

Hello everyone,

In all of my career, and thus far in my life, I have never had to compose a message like this.

Richard Case has been arrested on charges of soliciting a minor over the internet.  The arrest was performed by a joint task force of the Franklin County Sheriff and the Westerville Police Department.

According to the arresting officer, Rich could be detained, or he could be released on bail as early as today.  We will not know which event happens.

Obviously, Rich is innocent until proven guilty. But for an arrest to be made in a matter like this, there most likely is compelling evidence.

Please discuss this with your daughter, and encourage her to discontinue any form of contact with Rich... at least until the courts sort this out.

If any of you would like to talk to the arresting officer, he can be reached at 901-6450.  His badge number is 501, and his name is Officer Grubbs.

Thank you, and I am sorry to have to tell you this.
