A man was killed early Friday morning in shooting near Nationwide Children's Hospital on the city's near-east side.
The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. in the 600 block of Parsons Avenue.
Someone called 911 to report the shooting and arriving officers found the man dead, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.
The man was later identified Eulis Gunn, 53, police said.
It was not entirely clear what led up to the shooting, although investigators said there may have been a fight that escalated, Ramos reported.
Police were trying to locate witnesses and the person who called 911.
The slaying is the latest in a string of violent crimes spanning the last week.
In the past six days, Columbus police have responded to 10 shootings and stabbings, two of which were fatal, Ramos reported.
On Thursday morning, two men were stabbed and two others severely beaten during a fight near a gas station on the city's north side.
No arrests have been made in that case.
