The Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team issued a brief statement on Wednesday after the organization learned a U.S. Senate candidate was using a logo on his Web site that resembled the team's logo.

Marc Delphine's campaign launched the site, showing what appeared to be the logo reversed.  It showed the Ohio state flag wrapped around a star.

Links to Delphine's Web site made the rounds across blogs and social media on Wednesday.

Later in the day, the logo was removed from Delphine's site.

Delphine is running for U.S. Senate in Oregon.

The Blue Jackets issued a statement on Twitter, saying, "For those who are asking about the misuse of the CBJ logo, the issue is being looked into.  Thanks to those who pointed it out."

10TV tried to contact Delphine, but was unsuccessful.

Delphine told a Yahoo Sports writer that a volunteer had designed the logo and donated it to his campaign.
