Arnold 5K To Benefit Injured Weightlifter

UPDATED: Friday March 5, 2010 11:38 AM

Organizers of the Arnold Fitness Classic and RUNOHIO announced Tuesday that they are teaming for a fundraiser to benefit a badly injured weightlifter.

All registration money from Sunday's Arnold 5K Run will be donated to the Chris Harmon fund.    Harmon, 20, suffered serious injuries last week when a barbell holding 250 lbs. fell on his face.

Harmon, of Granville, was on life support after the accident and has undergone surgeries to repair his injuries.

His father said earlier this week that Harmon has been removed from life support and was improving, 10TV News reported.

Sunday's 5K begins at 9:15 a.m. at the corner of High and Goodale streets.  Registration is $35 the day of the race.
