A new Web site allows you to save money on dining out while helping put food on the tables of those who cannot afford it.
The site, Fudha, launched Monday and features locally-owned restaurants and deals, 10TV's Karina Nova reported.
Eileen Hammer and Shari Speer said they are regulars at Betty's Restaurant on High Street and they admit, they spend a lot of money there,
"I come here at least once a week, so it'd be great to save some money," Hammer said.
Deals, like a discount gift cards offering $20 worth of food for $10, come out weekly.
People can sign up for free, and a portion of the sales benefits the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Nova reported.
Site founder Tanisha Robinson said it is an easy way to save money and do something good.
"We have Tip Top, Bodega, Surly Girl, Barrio, Due Amici, Alana's," Robinson said. "Ton's of amazing restaurants we're excited to be working with."
Your coupon also helps the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, Nova reported.
"The need in the community is going up and less families that are able to give," Robinson said. "So this is kind of a way to go out to eat and give a dollar to the food bank all in one go and save money."
"I'm much more interested in a deal if it benefits the food bank as well as me," Speer said. "So I can feel virtuous while I go out to eat."
In its first day, the Web site raised $400 for the foodbank, Nova reported.
