Senate Approves Placing Columbus Casino Location Change On May Ballot

UPDATED: Wednesday January 27, 2010 2:30 PM

The plan to move the Columbus casino to the city's west side moved ahead Tuesday after the Ohio Senate voted to put the location change on the May ballot.

The 31-2 vote approved placing an amendment to move the casino from the Arena District to the former Delphi auto plant on the May 4 ballot.

No other casino provisions which were previously discussed were added to the bill to move the casino, 10TV News reported.

The Ohio House must also approve a similar measure by Feb. 3 to place the issue before voters.

On May 4, a majority of voters statewide will have to approve moving the casino location, 10TV News reported.
