The city of Marysville is cutting more than $2 million from next year's budget after voters rejected an income tax increase.
Marysville Mayor Chris Schmenk said 27 city positions would have to be cut in 2010. The cuts include two police officers and a firefighter.
Marysville is also considering reducing snowplowing services in the winter, cutting spring park programs and keeping the city pool closed.
Schmenk said she was working to return a tax increase on the ballot in May.
She said if it passes, she would look to rehire some of the workers.
