Girl Hospitalized After Buggy Collides With Tractor Trailer

 A 5-year-old Amish girl is being treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital after the buggy she was a passenger in was struck by a tractor trailer.

The accident happened Tuesday morning in Knox County near the town of Gambier at U.S. Route 62 and Deal Road. 

Lydia Slabaugh was pinned under the buggy for 45 minutes, after it collided with the truck.

Police said the tractor trailer was trying to pass the buggy as it was turning left.

The truck was driven by Joseph Scarano, 46, or Texas.

No citations had been issued Tuesday evening and the crash remained under investigation.

Two teens inside the buggy also suffered minor injuries.
