Mother, 2 Children Found Safe In Kansas

Investigators said Friday that a mother who disappeared with her two children on Thursday was found safe in Kansas late Friday afternoon.

A statewide missing children's advisory was issued at about 4:30 a.m. for Bradley Mathis, 4, and his sister, Hunter Chiloe Lewis, 2, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.

Detectives said that their mother, Gail Beldon, is off her bipolar medication.

Beldon, 27, called Union County authorities from a gas station phone in Kansas after she received word about the search for her, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.  She also flagged down a police officer who was parked at the gas station who spoke with Union County Sheriff's Office authorities.

Investigators said that Beldon and her children were picked up by someone in a silver vehicle and were driven away.

No charges were expected to be filed in the case.
