A makeshift memorial has formed outside the home where four children died Saturday.

Throughout Sunday, a steady stream of visitors stopped to pay respects and add to the growing memorial, 10TV's Glenn McEntyre reported.

Some of those who stopped by the mobile home park, like Michelle Bernardi, did not know the family.

"It tore us all up," Bernardi told 10TV News. "I've got five kids of my own, and I couldn't imagine going through what they did."

Fire spread through the home early Saturday while the family was asleep. A man and a woman escaped the flames with their 8-month-old baby, but four children died inside the burning home.

Those who perished in the fire were identified as Breonna Snelling, 10; her brother Patrick, 8; their half-brother Nathan Skaggs, 2; and a cousin, Cassie Karg, 10.

Neighbors tried desperately to free the four children trapped inside the burning home.

"The whole middle part of the trailer was in flames," neighbor Michelle McGowan told 10TV News. "We started busting out the windows. My brother was in waist-deep, yelling for them. He couldn't find any of them."

Investigators told 10TV News early indicators point to an electrical problem as the cause of the fire.

While investigators continue to figure out exactly how the blaze started, friends of the young victims struggle to deal with their grief.

Seven-year-old Morgan put her feelings into a letter addressed to Cassie Karg, who was Morgan's best friend.

"We will not get you back," Morgan wrote. "You know I love you forever."
